We are not a UN delegate country, but we believe the wording in UN proposals is getting out of hand. We point to the recent cloning proposal as evidence. We believe that resolutions should be written as clearly and as simply as possible. Ernest Hemingway, who wrote on a 5th-grade level, has become known as one of the greatest novelists of our time because of the content of his stories and because of the simple (but correct) words he chose to tell them. We should strive to do the same in writing our proposals.
