Subsidized Contraceptives Act Re-Introduced!

Baudrillard

The language is below:

BE IT RESOLVED:

THAT Member Nations will subsidize the production and distribtuion of contraceptives, to an extent that the use of contraceptives will be legal and inexepensive in their nation and accessible to all who request them regardless of age, sex, race, ethnicity or gender.

THAT in the event of rape, as defined by national law, that emergency contraception be provided free of charge and as rapidly as possible.

We were less than 40 votes away from it reaching quorum the last time, so let's keep it going! I'll be TMing individual nations that supported the proposal before.

Let's have a world where (whether you are pro-or-anti-) abortions are less necessary because of subsidized contraceptives.

I wish to repeat my earlier opinion that this proposal is unfair to nations which wish to completely ban contraception.

In the event of rape contraceptives will be pointless so why issue them unless you are talking about abortion pills like ru200 or whatever its called. And even then what about those catholic countries?

It is my belief that to ban contraceptives is against human rights!

Peace,
Stephanie.

This proposal does not mandate contraception, but enables it.
There is a "morning-after" pill, although the side effects can be severe.
A penny tax on each contraceptive prescribed could fund this proposal painlessly.

How do you figure?

The Holy Empire of Pantocratoria reaffirms its position that it will certainly not subsidise contraception, and reserves for itself the right to ban it completely.

The proposal is broad enough so that there should be no difficulty with organized religions. I do not believe that the Catholic Church endorses rape, and if the reproductive process hasn't started yet (and even theocratically, it takes some time to do so), there's nothing wrong with emergency contraception.

I believe banning contraceptives is a violation of human rights.

I also believe that giving them to people for "free" (remember, this means that they are robbed from elsewhere) is a violation of rights.

I will NOT support this proposal.

I believe that the Catholics believe that any human intervention in perventing the sperm from interacting with the egg even after being a result of a rape is a violation of Gods will.

Correct, the Church doesn't endorse contraception under any circumstances. SO DON'T TRY TO MAKE US GIVE THE STUFF OUT FOR FREE!
