Lands beyond Earth?

Dear members of the U.N.,
I encourage you to vote against the current resolution. There has been news of a developing bacteria on Mars, similar to our own ancestors of life, that have yet to establish a means of communication yet. Do we have a right to impose beliefs on a culture that doesn't exist yet? Friends, instead we must continue to do research from earth without harming these creatures and retain a watchful diplomacy rather than setting up Earth II on another planet.

You would comdemn the spread of us who have chosen this new life. On the Colony Alpha, we are dedicated to helping advance the UED, and thus technology. You would send us back to Earth when our lives belong up here?

Friend, you say you want to advance technology? Why not begin here on earth? There are resources we have yet to discover here, and that we have a more logical right to, in terms of ownership. As for "belonging up there", I mean in no way to oppose your believes or "condemn" you. I only ask that you look at all possible ways to avoid setting up a colony. We residents of Earth have harmed our enviroment greatly, and many see Mars, Venus, and the Moon as simply an alternative to fixing the damage here. If you truly believe it is your duty, my friend, wait until we can securely say there is no life "up there" that may have pre-dominance to the land, and that could be greatly damaged.

Of all the DUMB things to put before the U.N., this has GOT to be the dumbest. Until a lifeform has reached SENTINENT STATUS, it can be considered as LIVESTOCK.

And with an apparent I.Q. of -900, so can YOU.

Since it doesn't exist yet, I'm going to have to give a resounding "yes".

Me voted yes. Now that you've brought it to our attention that theres a bacteria on Mars my scientists have started working on a cure to destroy this new threat to my peoples health.

Once the earth will be full of people, if we go and have a look abroad then, it might be to late. We must go into space at once!

(The UN is a bit lousy though)

Friends, I see the will of the U.N. and I abide by it's decision, however I encourage you to look at the full spectrum of possibility before you decide to potentially destroy other lands as has been done to Earth. One day, there'll be no land left for us to run to, and the bridges back will have been burned.
