Maybe this is Global Market's joke on everyone stupid enough to vote for his (her? why do I have the feeling it's definately a him?) resolution? If it is I'll have a massively increased respect for that particular cyber entity. He's made fairly good points in the past, and the Cato act had a lot of things going for it (I still voted against, but it was close), so it'd be fun if that was true.

Or it's possible he's been swayed by the eloquence of the arguments against it--sorry. I forgot where I was.

Teehee .

Though, to be fair, to explicitly accept that your arguement is invalid here, as in politics proper, is to admit you made a mistake, and hence reduce your sway with the undecideds. Much better to stand by your opinion in a particular thread, and then stealthily change that opinion the next time the subject comes up...

He seems to have switched his vote.... :?:

EDIT: Ok, now I see him as having 14 votes for it and 12 Votes against... anybody able to explain this? Does it have something to do with the way the computer voting system is run?

I voted AGAINST because AT THE TIME most of my region was OPPOSED. Now the situation has changed. My endorsers have become more IN FAVOR than OPPOSEd. I have swtihced my vote.

Hm...

Endorsements Received: 12 (Wyattania, Two-headed snake, Schurkistan, Unnonabuddia, Civilized States, Vbeir, Spyw, Sams America, Portugalense Colonies, Picrante, Har Akir, Bataslavia)
UN update pending: nation has 13 verified endorsements.

So he has 14 OFFICIAL votes, but 13 real votes. Maybe a mod or SalusaSecondus could help us....:?:

EDIT: I moved a puppet into his region, and he is currently voting FOR.

This is because ever since I proposed this resolution my region has been very hectic. I've gone from 7 endorsements to 6 then back to 7 then to 8 then all of a sudden to 11 then to 13 and now back to 12.

Just because some proposes a resolution, does not mean they agree with it themselves. Although the reason you propose a resolution is generally because you agree with it, in the case of The Global Market, it may have been simply because he wanted to see how other people felt about this resolution, and/or wanted to give it a chance to shape the international community.

I'm impressed--I like the way you run your region. The region I represent is small--I have three endorsements and am the UN rep--and I listen to suggestions if they're passed along to me, but generally just vote as I see fit. I haven't had anyone jump on my ass yet at least.

They told you about your own resolution? ;)

But really, I applaud your dedication to democracy, though perhaps I myself wouldn't go so far as to vote against my own resolution.
