Description: Give peace a chance.

In order to further the causes of peace and tolerance, this resolution hereby establishes a Department of Peace for the United Nations.

All nations are free to participate or not as they see fit.

The UN Department of Peace shall explore various methods to end war and establish peace on the planet, such as voluntary disarmament, peace treaties between nations, researching the possibility of a universal language for the planet, and other ways to increase tolerance and understanding between nations.

Why make it a resolution?

All resolutions have to be obeyed some one that says you don't have to obey it is really silly.

Maybe you should start a region or a thread entitled the Department of Peace. Or the Pax Abtielung :lol:

It would be like an ad hoc committee. Not every member of Congress sits on every committee. They often sit on committees which interest them.
If a congressman is interested in science he might be on the science committe. I don't see any reason to *Force* a nation to participate.
Some nations wont like the idea. To force them would be counterproductive. Besides, if this were forced, what chance would the resolution have of passing?

I have resubmitted, but changed the wording. I replaced 'disarmament' with 'reduction in arms'
