Please post your (humble) opinion.

The disarmament of all WMD
A resolution to slash worldwide military spending.

Category: Global Disarmament Strength: Significant Proposed by: Fungjingi
Description: We believe that all Weapons of Mass Destruction should be outlawed in all UN member states. Every nation is personally responsible for the destruction of these weapons. The UN will not subsidize it but every nation has to disarm these weapons. Selling them to non-UN member states is allowed but we rather like you to destroy them.

Approvals: 0

Status: Lacking Support (requires 121 more approvals)

Voting Ends: Sun Sep 28 2003

The Democratic Republic of Fungjingi has not approved this proposal. [Approve]

Uhmm... If the UN nations disarm, non-UN ones (Like me) will be at a serious advantage.

Something tells me they wanna keep their nukes.

Most nations opposed to this would just ignore the resolution.

And the nations that do support it would be susceptible to invasions, if they actually came around to the RP'ing sector.

You can't. Under the game rules - once a resolution is passed, it is automatically and unquestionably implimented in all member nations. The only choice is to resign.

This proposal will cause the death and suffering of tens of millions. Wolfish will not support it.

I quit after the UN was killing my economy, that and for the metric resolution.

Well, some of us hold to the idea that in the RP world we can just say "Ahhh screw you!" to the UN and ignore their resolutions

But if another UN country noted this - and didn't like you - they could raise this as an issue and say you're godmoding.

Last time I checked it's physically possible to violate UN resolutions, even in RL.

First of all, this isn't RL, read the rules. You MUST comply with UN rules if you are a UN member.

My problem is the disadvantage against the non-UN types.

Also, seems rather hypocritical to sell your WOMD to non-U.N. nations...I mean is it not the point to eliminate the weapons, not create more powerful nations?

My opinion would be a reduction rather than all out slash.

Why should I approve this if you have not? This is your proposal after all.

This would be ok if it were not for the selling to non UN states.

Yeah, what happens when I have no WMDs and other people do?

Well, if this were just a roleplay issue I would support it, cause WMD on this game are the crappy RPers crack cocain.

But since this is a political issue I say... no... it makes it easier for non UN nations to attack UN nations.

We already argued that a long time ago. We decided that a snowball can be a weapon of mass destruction.

Although WMD are not an honorable device of war; this resolution basically kills off any national sovereignty the UN has left members.
