Category: Human Rights Strength: Significant Proposed by: United Irish people
Description: The Constitution of the Free world
We the people of the Free World, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the Free World.

Sec. 1. Source of power.

All political power is inherent in the people and government is instituted for their protection, security and benefit; and they have the right to alter, reform or abolish the same in such manner as they may think proper.

Sec. 2. Freedom and independence.

All men are created equally free and independent, and have certain inherent and inalienable rights, amongst which are those of enjoying and defending life and liberty; of acquiring, possessing and protecting property and reputation, and of pursuing their own happiness. To secure these rights governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.

Sec. 3. Equality before the law.

The equality of all persons before the law is recognized, and shall ever remain inviolate; nor shall any citizen ever be deprived of any right, privilege or immunity, nor exempted from any burden or duty, on account of race, color or previous condition.

Sec. 4. Right of assembly and of petition.

The right of the people peaceably to assemble to consult for the common good, and to petition, by address or remonstrance, the government, or any department thereof, shall never be abridged.

Sec. 5. Right to bear arms.

The citizens of this State shall have the right to keep and bear arms for their common defense.

Sec. 6. Liberty of the press and of speech - Libel.

The liberty of the press shall forever remain inviolate. The free communication of thoughts and opinions is one of the invaluable rights of man; and all persons may freely write and publish their sentiments on all subjects, being responsible for the abuse of such right. In all criminal prosecutions for libel the truth may be given in evidence to the jury; and, if it shall appear to the jury that the matter charged as libelous is true, and was published with good motives and for justifiable ends, the party charged shall be acquitted.

Sec. 7. Jury trial - Right to - Waiver - Civil cases, nine jurors agreeing.

The right of trial by jury shall remain inviolate, and shall extend to all cases at law, without regard to the amount in controversy; but a jury trial may be waived by the parties in all cases in the manner prescribed by law; and in all jury trials in civil cases, where as many as nine of the jurors agree upon a verdict, the verdict so agreed upon shall be returned as the verdict of such jury, provided, however, that where a verdict is returned by less than twelve jurors all the jurors consenting to such verdict shall sign the same.

Constitution of the free world
A resolution to improve worldwide human and civil rights.

We, the Free Land of Tipayimisoowin, believe that this proposed Constitution is much like the current resolution at vote, the Cato Acts, which is not doing very well.

We, the Free Land of Tipayimisoowin, do not quite understand Sec. 1, but have no inherent arguments with it.

Sec.

We, the Free Land of Tipayimisoowin, cannot support such blatantly sexist piece of legislature. We believe that all men and women are equal. If the words "men" was replaced with "humans", the FLOT would be more supportive of this Section. Also, we feel that the word "created" should be emitted, to remove any endorsement of any religion (specifically those founded upon a creation of sorts). We do not feel that the omission of this word would offend anyone, nor would it change the intended purpose of the Section, and would make the sentence a more inclusive statement.

Sec. 3. Equality before the law.

The equality of all persons before the law is recognized, and shall ever remain inviolate; nor shall any citizen ever be deprived of any right, privilege or immunity, nor exempted from any burden or duty, on account of race, color or previous condition.

We, the Free Land of Tipayimisoowin, wonder what is meant by a "previous condition" and are wary of supporting this section until more clarity is brought to the subject.

Sec.

We, the Free Land of Tipayimisoowin, wonder what is meant by "common good" and "common defense."

Sec. 6. Liberty of the press and of speech - Libel.

The liberty of the press shall forever remain inviolate. The free communication of thoughts and opinions is one of the invaluable rights of man; and all persons may freely write and publish their sentiments on all subjects, being responsible for the abuse of such right. In all criminal prosecutions for libel the truth may be given in evidence to the jury; and, if it shall appear to the jury that the matter charged as libelous is true, and was published with good motives and for justifiable ends, the party charged shall be acquitted.[quote=United Irish people]f Tipayimisoowin, do not fully understand libel, and therefore shall refrain on commenting on this section, aside from one point. We believe that replacing the word "man" with "humanity" would be much more appropriate.

[quote="United Irish people"]Sec.

We, the Free Land of Tipayimisoowin, cannot, under any circumstances, support such a section. We do not feel that a 75% consensus rate is acceptable. We feel that is disqualifies the opinions and validities of the other three jurors, and is a threat to the entire judicial system of our great nation.

Respectfully,
the FLOT
