I love your article. Nice short and sweet. BTW I didn't actually write the Bill of No Rights (except for the first line) it is from capitalism.com.

Bill of No Rights
By the Nation of Kisnesia

Hey, look! Another bill that ignores spell-checking! But besides the obvious spelling errors, this bill is rather beneficial to your nation.

This bill will overturn the UN's control on at least part of your nation's sovereignty. It simply lists what rights people do NOT have (but that some believe they have).

Note that this bill does NOT take away your right to give every citizen in your country a big-screen TV. It just simply keeps the UN from requiring you to do it when you don't want to.

Want to have nationalized healthcare? Go for it. Don't want nationalized healthcare? This bill says that's OK too, as long as that is what you want. It is about time we had some return of control to the nations themselves instead of a UN power-grab.

NS-UN Update ENDORSES this bill, and encourages all nations to vote for it. Now give me back my TV...

Woah! Bill of No Rights? Vote No.

Think of it as more of a Bill of Responsiblity
26-09-2003, 18:09
Or better yet a Disclaimer of Responsibility,

I mean it even read like something you'd find on a toaster oven.

If you want to be poetic, consider it the "Toaster Oven" of life. Sometimes, you have to accept that the world is going to hand you burnt toast. This bill simply re-affirms that.

When Toaster Ovens and life reaffirm'd,
oh freedom! may communism be spurned

Yes. Now the UN can only do things that promote freedom. The horror!

You mean, just like the bill on Grammar prevents passage of bills that have typos?
26-09-2003, 18:40
:o Who the heck came up with this idea? It's outrageous. No one would follow the rules anyways! You can't just take everyone's cares, Tv... amenities away for no reason!

That Grammar one was just spiteful. I don't support that one either.

Actually as NSUN resolution are chronological, as soon as a resolution that contradicts this one is passed it will be in effect even when the Bill of No Rights contradicts it. Plus that's just semantics.

You are misreading the bill: It says you have no inalienable right to a TV.
1. It does NOT say that you can't have a TV.
2. It does NOT say that your government cannot give out TVs.

It only says that the UN will not force your government to give out TVs.

Absolutely. But I thought it a funny line.

True, but there is something to be said about precedent. Kisnesia no longer considers the 'Proper Grammar' rule to be in effect.

We also no longer consider the 'Replanting Trees' to be in effect, because acres can no longer be used as a form of measurement: under 'Metric System', it must be square meters.

And back into Semantics? oh well.
