"If a pilot ejects, it is a violation to shoot at or otherwise attempt to harm him/her while he/she is in the air." (Just do a search for "pilot")
I feel that my proposal should receive more support and that the only reason why it is currently lacking is beause not many people have noticed it. Does anyone disagree?

I like shooting ejected pilots. They're easier to kill than unejected ones. Of course the best solution would be let's not go to war with each other for no reason.
But if you are going to war, then the whole point is to kill people.

No the whole point is to achieve your strategic objective, which usually invovles killing people.

And the killing of a person who can not at that moment defend themselves properly, like while trying to guide himself down on his parachute, is a shallow victory indeed.

And the point of war is to take by force what you couldn't wheel or deal for.

Eh... Looks like it's not going to make it. Oh well. =/
Functionally, a pilot ejecting from his plane is the same as an infantryman tossing down his rifle--he is surrendering his weapons. As such, the proper protocol is for the other party to take him prisoner if possible.
We the People's Republic Of Amyth wonder how this resolution applies to paratroopers. They start off in a plane and end up on the ground, should we wait until they are ready to fight to kill them? Can our enemies claim that all their paratroopers are pilots? Co-pilots & Navigators & Bombadiers & Gunners? Or is only the Captain of the plane covered by this resolution? We think we will continue to shoot all enemy parachuters who try to invade our country and not wait for them to land to ask if they are the pilot.
Perhaps we could legislate that all pilots must wear international orange jumpsuits...
What do you think the ejected pilot did while he was still flying his jet?
He wanted to bomb a target in a country his country is on war with. Despite this evil intention he is (more or less) harmless.
Although he might still be armed (pistol) nobody should be allowed to shoot him. There is no doubt that you can try to make him Prisoner of war - with all means. If he is killed because he is defending himself it's not really good but the 'normal' course of war actions.
So every member of the UN should vote FOR a law which condems such cowardly actions like killing ejected pilots on parachutes!
i say if the rule should be the opossing pilots can only use machine guns and if they can pick off that small of a target they deserve it.
