No on Cato

21-09-2003, 17:45
The current Cato proposal goes too far in attempting to create a single world government. The citizens and leaders of Leadonia oppose this threat to our sovernty, even the proposal contains elements in our own Consitition.

This proposal appears to be little more than an attempt to increase the ability of the UN to administer the public policy of individual member states. As such, the people of Leadonia urge fellow UN members to vote "No" on this proposal.

The honorable citizens and delegate of Westbubble do not support the Cato act. It goes much to far in trying to establish a world republic. The romans supported an emperor, Cato worked against that. What kind of an act works against the people? I say, stop the UN from butting into our countries business. Give the people what they want. Don't have the UN meddling in government business, if it works, why are we changing it.

While fundamentally I have no difficulty with some of the articles of this proposal, I firmly beleive that it attempts to infringe too greatly on the basic rights of my nation to self-determination. No one nation should be able to dictate it's concept of what it determines to be 'Democracy' upon another nation, and that is entirely what these accords are attempting to do. Just say No to Cato!

We the people of Blamgolia are unable to support the Cato Acts...though we did vote for its appearance before the UN, now we see the mistake made...

It goes too far in regards to getting into state sovereignty. As such, we cannot allow it.

Despite being supportive of the majority of the resolution I must vote against the Cato act. Article VII, concerning military service goes against the policy of my country, which requires two years of compulsory military service.

I respect Ceasar's ways not of Cato's lol. This resolution is too much of Cato and didn't Cato commit suicide because he had fear of Julius Ceasar? Lmfao

No offense I do respect the writer of the resolution but not the content it brings...

Cato's daughter was married to one of Caesar's top lieutenants (Brutus), and Caesar promised Cato safe return to Rome if he chose. Cato killed himself on principle.

Besides, Cato's not the one who bragged about killing and enslaving 2 million Gauls.

I disagree and have persuaded some of my Region to vote against it.
