The UN is too progressive for its own good -- and the World!
:( We of the THEOCRACY OF NOLAERIE SOUTH hereby announce (really DENOUNCE) the United Nations. The minister in our government who suggested membership has been bound in duct tape and sentenced to exile to our former birthright yet heidonist land of THE COMMONWEALTH OF NOLAERIE (in the Region on Nolaerie).
Aside from the first resolution, the UN shows itself as being against the true good of the world, it's human resources, and our proud leviathans! Avarice is the rule -- fight to the death the Church of the Great Green Frog!
We further have resolved that our imperial elements will implode into the great DICTATORSHIP OF FORMER NOLAERIEITES from this day forward!

How can any thing be a too progressive? What is the alternative? Should we leave things the way they are and hope for the best? Should we never progress as a people or world? I'm not sure I understand the logic here.
Peace,
Stephanie.

That's a good question... Progress is infinite and always desirable.
Only an idiot would support reaction over progress.
Now the question is, "what constitutes progress"?

I agree that change for the sake of change is not always a good thing. That would be the $64,000 question.. now what is progress ?

Stephanie.

Progress is giving more and more people the right to freely argue over what progress is.
That summarizes our Colony's position. We do not believe there is an objective way of knowing the meaning of concepts such as "progress" or "good." Thus, we strive to allow our people to think what they may on such issues, and feel others should do the same. That way, at least, the people may be happy.

Unfortunately the argument about the nature of progress tends to be overtaken by progress itself. As some of our Darwinian friends would know, you can try and regulate progress but it happens regardless. The trick is getting the sort of progress you like right now (usually to others detriment) and sometimes progress is regressive.
Progress is history.
