Can someone please give me some ideas???? I need some help for some U.N resoulutions that aren't stupid or etc.

I have some ideas that aren't stupid or etc!! whatever or etc means. How about a resolution to ban private enterprise? or promote social equality? or to ban all unsustainable exploitation of the environment? I would support them. Though since I am not a delegate that probably wouldn't help much.

I like the last one Wolomy suggested: "to ban all unsustainable exploitation of the environment." It has a good sound to it. If you expound upon this idea, it would be interesting to see the reaction from the NationStates community. How dedicated are we to protecting our international environs?

Here's an idea for a resolution:
---PENALTY FOR LOST LAWSUITS---
WHEREAS the resolution "Common Sense Act II" was, in principle a good idea, and
WHEREAS it has major flaws in that it is too specific for general application, and
WHEREAS there are ways of cutting down the number of lawsuits besides banning them, be it
RESOLVED that the proposal "Common Sense Act II" is hereby repealed, and be it further
RESOLVED that the plaintiff in a lawsuit that is dismissed by the presiding judge must pay all legal expenses that the defendant incurred due to the lawsuit.

Of course, you may want to change it. I would post this resolution myself, but I only have one endorsement.

What's the point of natural resources if we can't use them?

Technically one day the whole planet will be gone. The sun will begin to die, expand, and probably encompass Earth. This means NOTHING is indefinatly sustainable. Should I just do everyone a favor and make the human race go extinct? Obviously we're not worthy of this planet.

Un-Proposed Resolution #9 version 1.01

Global Heath Organisation Standards and Technology
(name subject to ratification)

The purpose of this resolution is to create an international organisation devoted to the prevention, treatment, and control of diseases through world. Recognising that in today's world of high speed travel, diseases that could easily be controlled by geography and distances can now travel easily throughout the world in a matter of days, an international effort to control these and new diseases is vital.

We propose that this Organisation, henceforth refered to as GHOST, concern itself with the improvement of international health through the following:

- Developing and promoting consistent, ethical and evidence-based health policy and advocacy positions
- Managing health information by assessing trends and comparing performance; setting the agenda for, and stimulating research and development

- Catalysing change through technical and policy support, in ways that stimulate cooperation and action and help to build sustainable national and inter-country capacity to control and prevent disease

- Negotiating and sustaining national and global partnerships for the purposes of improving the development, distribution and economics of pharmacuticals, and helping to control the spread of disease through education and the implementation of international treaties concerning infectous disease

- Setting, validating, monitoring and pursuing the proper implementation of norms and standards concerning the prevention of disease through education, hygene, pharmacutical research and development, quarintine procedures, and other methods

- Stimulating the development and testing of new technologies, tools and guidelines for disease control, risk reduction, health care management, and service delivery and pricing

Through education, global alliances and technological innovation, we feel that an international organisation has the potential to achieve far greater results than the efforts of many individual countries.

Un-Proposed Resolution #1 version 1.00

UNGlobal Defence Initiative


The purpose of this resolution is to create an international organisation devoted to the prevention of proliferation, containment, and destruction of weapons of mass destruction (WMD) throughout world.

We propose that this Organisation, henceforth referred to as UDI, concern itself with the implementation of a global defence initiative through the following measures:

- Developing and promoting international treaties concerning anti proliferation and the destruction of current WMD stockpiles
- Managing a database of known WMD armed countries, probable numbers of WMD's, movement of WMD throughout the international community
- Negotiating and developing national and global partnerships for the purposes of developing a global defence strategy for the nullification of threats from nuclear, biological and all WMD's


Through treaties, solid information about how many WMD's are in existence and who had them, and the creation of a global defence system all the world can be safe from the deployment of WMD's. While this will not be an overnight process, we feel that this technology would serve the world better in the hands of the many, than in the hands of individual nations.
