Common Sense 2: An Act of Injustice

The resolution currently being debated is nothing more than an infringment by the U.N. upon the sovereign rights of the member nations. Such decisions regarding a nation's laws should be left to the people of that land. What is socially acceptable in your cultures may not be necessarily acceptable in my culture. The U.N. is currently overstepping it's chartered powers and delving into the quagmire that is a country's minutia of law.

This is the Holy Empire of the Hanging Chad's formal request that all member nation's reassess their vote prior to the expiration of remaining debate time on the issue.

I've asked the same thing and agree with you on all points.

Peace,

Now whereas I see no problem with the UN interfering in national laws. You can leave the UN at any time, I believe should you do so there should be a delay on your return, so that at least one other vote has taken place (thus ensuring that your country doesn't gain the popupaltion increase that all UN members gain every time a resolution is passed). Meaning any nation that resigns from the UN is excluded for two votes.

Or maybe a country leaving should have all the UN effects reversed (as they no longer have to obey the rules) and it is made clear that any country joining the UN must obey all past resolutions by applying all of the category changes from past resolutions to them.

Getting back on topic however as I understand the reasons for that not happening. The resolution is a bad one, there are at least three other threads explaining why, please for once vote no. Nebbyland will stay in the UN if this is passed, we will attmpt to make the best of a bad deal and impliment laws around the resolution.

And Steph we had to disagree about some things.
