And exactly what powers would this president have?

We don't need a proposal to have an election. That is kinda pointless. Lets just figure out what the title and powers of said official are here, and then vote. My thoughts:

She is pretty much the UN mod anyways, I think we should give her a vote of support. AND, as a mod, she already has UN president-like powers.

We agree that any such proposal is outside the scope of current mandate of the UN and the proposal system. Furthermore, the senate has asked me to express that this would seem to be one more example of pointless bueracracy that arises when a purely symbolic leader is elected.

This would be symbolism over substance. As such a person would have no real authority over the UN.

That sounds like a super idea, why think of the benefits some sort of UN leader could provide! They could finally find some use for that crown and big palace, they could introduce some much needed order into this madness through judicious use of police (I'm sure they'd use it wisely, after all they are in charge) and force... :oops: I mean ask with authority :oops: ... through otherwise unpopular measures such as a 'worship me as a God' bill or a 'Subdue those people who don't look like us' act. Because as we all know, without some sort of genius leadership nothing would ever get done around here!

I am def. not in favor of this idea. I say just leave the UN alone.

No... NO... NO... NO!! Has anyone read the damn FAQ? No proposals to change the game! Jeez!

At this time Altum sees no need to a Head UN official. We believe that the UN should run the way that the nation vote. Maybe in the future the UN will need someone to take care of administrative work, but at this time there is no need to a position of this type.

We the People's Republic Of Amyth believe that the NSun needs a president, of some other titled head speaker, that could be agreed upon and refered to in times of techinical debate. We would also still like to nominate ourselves for this position as we believe we should have the final say.

Sounds like the British monarchy: a monetary black hole. I'm going to say no untill I see what exactly this president will DO.

On the bright side, if we had a UN head, we know whom to blame and boot from office.
