Fellow Members of the UN

I urge you to consider Borge's proposal with regards to the cheaper availability of non-fossil fueled vehicles. We must preserve this great planet for our childrens future.

The planets reserves of fossil fuels is running out and now is the time to make our lives less dependent on these fuels.

Please vote for this proposal.

Sadly the world depends on fossil fuels not only as a fuel but as something to trade to other countries. If the problem was simply finding a new fuel then it would have been solved since down south in America in order to get more cash flowing to farmer's they took the corn stalk that is usually thrown away and turned it into a liquid which was used as a fuel. As a result it was more efficent, enviromentally friendly, plentful. But the big buisness people shut it down before it spread. The world uses fossil fuel as a trading tool more so then a fuel source.

My friend you speak the truth although if we carry on as we are, we will not have anything to trade with in a few years.

Yes, we must try to find aternitives to fossil fuels, especially oil. My country is researching cars powered by fuel cells, engines powered by burning hydrogen into water. It is very clean and efficient, the only problem is that we need to find a way to make pure hydrogen cheeply. The interior of the southern part of my country is desert and high plains so We are planning to build an enormous facility that uses solar energy to split water into Hydrogen and Oxygen.

Yes fuel cell cars are a great alternative, they are the future of the automobile.

Non-fossil fuel vehicles
A resolution to increase the quality of the world's environment, at the expense of industry.

Category: Environmental Industry Affected: Automobile Manufacturing Proposed by: Borge
Description: In these days where the writing is on the wall with regards to depleting fossil fuels. Consideration should be given to the manufacturer and availability of vehicles, both in public and private usage, which can be either in part or fully powered by alternative means. For example, electric, solar etc.

Tax concessions need to be given in order that these vehicles become cheaper to buy and run, these concessions should extend to businesses which use these systems of transport. The aim being that fossil fuels will last longer in addition to the added benefit of increasing the quality of the environment for our children.

Approvals: 9 (Phuckuvia, Tol Barad, Lamoni, Giant Atomic Insects, Dionalka, Goobergunchia, My Society, Threeve, Nadaskor)

Voting Ends: Sat Aug 30 2003

Ladies & Gentlemen of the UN. We the citizens of Borge urge you to consider this proposal and vote accordingly for it to become a resolution.

We must protect this home of ours, or this planet will not be in a fit state to support life within a few years.

I think the UN should establish a committee to find alternative fuel sources.

There already is a resolution to develop hydrogen vehicles but can you say "Hindenburg"?

Y'all tryin' to put the folks in my country out of their jobs?

Alabammy here makes the best danged GAS-BURNIN' pickups in the world.

Now, I'm all for lookin' to see what other fancy new things are out there that we can use once the wells run dry, but until then, y'all gots to understand that I can't stand by and let ya put us out of business.

And I've seen how all y'all's resolutions go.

Sure, y'all suggest "looking for alternatives", and next thing we know, BAM, we're drivin' little electric cars made by some furiner instead of the good ol' trucks driven by my pappy and his pappy before him.

So, y'all go ahead and look, but ya ain't going to bury the Alabammy tradition of drivin' good ol' gas-guzzlin' pickups.

Thank ya fer listenin'.
