No more resolutions
Well since there are now so many UN delegates and apparently the vast majority are shirking their responsibility it is very likely we will never see another UN resolution go to a whole UN vote again.
Time to trim the fat people!
If your UN rep isn’t doing his job replace them.

Agreed, very much so. And the more regions, and thus delegates, we get the more of them will fail to do their job. We really, _really_, need to get that percentage down to a reasonable level. 20% just doesn't work anymore
is it possible to make a UN proposition which would reduce this percentage?
I believe several people have already tried. None made it to a vote, for the very reasons the proposals were meant to address.

Yes, there are/have been quite a bunch of such proposals, and as Murgatopia stated, the reason they never went to vote is what they were supposed to affect. Though, as Violet says on advices for UN delegates, proposals like these shouldn't be made. Though I think making those is just a good way of telling we really need it to change.
Now, the question is... has anyone who really can affect the situation noticed these posts, or the problem?

I think it would help too if people stopped posting TONS of bullsh*t proposals all over the place. A couple of days ago, there were close to a 100 pages full of proposals, and most of the stuff was pretty much just a waste of time. True, you could say that the delegates weren't doing their job, but you could also say that the job - for the most part anyway - just plain wasn't worth doing.
Can't Mr. Berry simply use his l33t skillz (:P) to make the proposition with the less amount of endorsements needed become a resolution?

Damn straight, I have a similar topic going in the NationStates forum. I meant for it to go in here.... eh, whatever works.

Max isn't the admin. The current admin "violet" has stated that game mechanics will not be changed for a long long time. They need more space and more tech knowledge (try buying the book... that might help).

Not going to happen. So long as people have the right to post on the forum, they can make proposals. The delegates are there to make sure we don't have to vote on bullsh*t proposals, which they are currently not doing so we aren't voting on anything.

Not every region has a delegate, first off. And it will always be 20%. Just currently 20% of 815 is asking a bit much of a bunch of title-hogging, duty-shirking degenerates (if you aren't one then you shouldn't take exception to my comment so back off).
The only thing to do is contact the delegate of your region. If they haven't voted then tell them they are about to lose their job and endorse someone else. If you have not endorsed anyone in your region then you are as much a part of the problem as they are (unless you want to endorse yourself.. in which case.. sorry).
Well we have two now and they are both non-issues.
Maybe Delegates should be limited to an elected period of time, eg a week, and then a new delegate elected. My regional delegate hasn't been online for two weeks, and the people who endorsed him too, and other people do not want to endorse me. (hmm why? I have nothing against the UN).
Saddam
Rather than requiring 20% of the potential electorate, would it not make more sense to require 50.001% of the ACTUAL electorate? Then only those delegates who made the effort to vote would have their say count, and the UN would no longer be riddled by the cancer that is apathy.

Well, there's now a resolution to limit people to a maximum of 1 proposal per week....so they're obviously able to make some gameplay changes if they want to.
A Search function would also be useful for proposals, rather than having to wade through 80 pages of "compulsory FEMALE nudity" and "George Bush is an idiot". The way it is right now, you have to almost campaign for a proposal, and then it gets deleted. It dosn't help that requiring 180 approvals is difficult, as I doubt there are that many delegates involved. It should be lowered to 10%, or delegates who do not vote should loose their position.

And how do you do that????? :?

No they aren't. this is a non-sense proposal. Any and all proposals that deal with game mechanics are non-sense proposals just because they won't be enforced by the admin. But it's something to vote on so i'm not complaining.
The only way to support this resolution is on the honor code... and we already know that a lot of players aren't going to follow that.
