Multiple Accounts?

For starters, I don't have multiple accounts. But after like a day of playing I decided I wanted to make my own region. So that's what I did... and I forced some family and friends to join for starters, before beginning to recruit through the game. My mother, in particular, has political interests and is well versed with forums and such. So naturally, as well as myself, she has been admitted to the World Assembly. We use the same computer. We live together.

I believe there is sufficient proof found on our regional page to support that she is in fact my mother. I suppose a 'sneaky' person could very well fake it all, so if exceptions aren't made in this matter I understand. But at the same time I can't very well ask my mother, who is developing an interest in the game, to step back from the WA. Nor do I intend to. If there is some possible way for a mod/admin/max/whatever to examine this case in particular and give me some options I'd appreciate it.

I realize this probably isn't the most appropriate place to announce this, but after searching for a little while I couldn't find anything better. At least not anything that would be as harmless if incorrect.

No. End of story. We can't make exceptions for anyone in this case. The rules are clear on this. Even if there was "sufficient proof", it still doesn't warrant us bending the rules for you in this case. You'll have to accept that there can only be one nation from your IP in the WA at a time. There are no "options".

Some options you have are to either a) share one nation in the WA and agree to make joint decisions in the matter of the WA or b) trade WA status every so often (keeping a day or two between them to avoid overlap)

I understand, and appreciate you taking the time to address this matter. It is unfortunate, I feel, for you as well as I. Rules are nothing without the principles they protect. And my bringing this up had intentions of appealing to these principles.

Thinking of the days I spent getting my mom interested, and of how now she IS interested, I'm not sure if I'll be the one to contradict myself to her. While I understand the possible avalanche of making one single exception, I'm afraid I must leave it in the hands of whatever automated IP recording engine this site functions with. And hope that my sincerity hasn't incriminated me.

While I was writing I missed what Erastide had said. Those seem like fair and viable options. I wonder why the first moderator didn't mention that.

Because we're human and sometimes forget things.

Let me clarify though: it's one WA nation per computer.

How do you benefit from having multiple accounts really?

You'd have to ask a multy.

Raiders.... only a few single individuals would have enough puppets to REALLY effect a WA vote - so just raiders really would benefit from having a WA multi.

Per computer, or per IP?

Perhaps a second opinion?

Our cheat detection software uses many different methods to identify suspect nations -- which I can't detail, since that would make it easier to circumvent. But it does its best to figure things out without relying on a single metric like IP address. Unfortunately it's not psychic, and if you and your mom tend to frequently swap back and forth on the same computer, it's likely it'll be unable to distinguish you from a single person.
