I'm writing a sort of, short story about NationStates, and well writing I ran into a dilemma....

How does DEAT work?

When someone is deleted...

-does the links to his name just cease to become links?
-does "*Nation*" cease to be a nation, in the regional happenings?
-Lazarus?
-Does the nation just vanish, all of the links connected to it just disappear? (unperson?)

And how is someone informed that they've been DEATed...? Do they just find out by themselves?

That should stir up some mod conspiracy theories... shouldn't it? :)

Wow, freaky, there actually is an unmarked van parked beside my house, right now.

Trawl around in regions and look for where a nation has ceased to exist because the person failed to log in. Being deleted looks much the same, except instead of "ceased to exist", it should say something like "was deleted for rules violations".

Everything else (old links, etc.) operate the same way. Except they can't self-resurrect, obviously.
