Cannot Join WA

Hello.

I seem to have problems joining the WA. I have received my emails twice, accepted twice, and yet am not in the WA.

3 minutes ago: Prestiga applied to join the World Assembly.
4 minutes ago: Prestiga was admitted to the World Assembly.
39 minutes ago: Prestiga applied to join the World Assembly.
40 minutes ago: Prestiga was admitted to the World Assembly.

Please help. When I click the accept link, it says I am admitted. Yet I am not a member! I don't have any other nations in the WA! When I click on the link in the email again it says the invitation has lapsed! Someone help, please?!

Thanks, Prestiga.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't you have to wait for a daily update to go through?

I don't know... Frankly this has happened to another of my nations too. I wonder if the mods can clarify?

Yes, you do have to wait for the next update. No, I don't know when that is for your area.

When it comes through, if you have successfully accepted for two nations, both those nations will show the WA symbol. This is illegal; it gets nations deleted.

Because of your post here, mods will know it was done accidentally, but make sure you resign from the WA with one of those nations as fast as you can. You must have only one nation in the WA.

EDIT: If you want to make doubly sure, post a Getting Help (http://www.nationstates.net/page=help) request now saying that you accidentally clicked on two nations for the WA but you will resign as soon as the confirmation comes through.

By "as fast as you can" I don't mean "sit up long after you should be in bed waiting desperately to click the 'resign' link". Just do it when you would normally log in.

You resign by going to the World Assembly link in the column on the left-hand side of your nation page. When you get there, it says "[YOURNATION] is a WA member/Resign". Click "resign".

Just to clarify, this happening to another of my nations had happened some time ago, so there isn't any chance to have two nations in the WA for me.

About you saying I have to wait for the next update, it seems weird that while Prestiga still doesn't have its WA status, nations like "The Free Land of Ron Paulania" who was admitted to the WA 8 minutes ago, already has their WA status? They voted in the current resolution 6 minutes ago. So does "george_with_the_money", who was admitted around the same time as RP.

Could this be explained?

This post is to make this thread visible on the forums.

Also, what I want to really ask is that why other nations get their WA status immediately after being admitted, while my nation did not?

I delayed answering to see if an update gave you WA status, but I see it hasn't.

I've just sent you another validation email. When you've validated your account again, try again to join the WA (the validation email is just your forum account, it's not the WA one).

If that still doesn't work, you should send a Getting Help (http://www.nationstates.net/page=help) message so someone with more techie nous than I can have a look at it.

OK. I've done a little test, so another of my nations is in the WA now. It was accepted, and admitted, and right after it was admitted, it had WA Status. Immediately.

I could vote in the current proposal, endorse other nations, etc.

I realise I might have muddled everyone, but to clarify myself, I ask:

Why did Prestiga not have its WA status immediately after it was admitted, unlike every other nation? At that time, I had no other nation in the WA.

We honestly don't know at this point.

So it is a techincal glitch I guess. I patiently await your reply.

That explanation seems more generally acceptable than, "The WA Gnomes just don't like you" or "There was a bad fairy at your naming day."

Sorry, but you've been answered as best we can. Possibly an admin could clarify, but remember that NS is kept running by volunteers and for the admins it's usually head down, tail up, the minute they log in.

That's OK. Could you "link me up" with the admins, by any chance?
