Disapproval Button

I would like to amend the constitution of the WA, actually the code, so that delegates can approve and disapprove proposals. I think that the passing of legislation would feel more IC if there was that button. There is a clown proposal and a WA military proposal currently on the list. If there was a disapprove button then they would likely be removed IC. I would not, however, want the approvals and disapprovals counted together; if they were, a fiercely contested issue would first have to be passed by a republic and then a direct democracy.
Also, I see a need for a link to forum where drafts are discussed so that those proposals that clown around can be shot down immediately OOC.

Code amendments are more difficult and time consuming than many players would believe, and so are unlikely to be made when there are other recourses.
As for the approve/disapprove button, you have that as well, once it's up for vote. If there are joke proposals or proposals that are clearly illegal as far as the WA proposal rules (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=420465) are concerned, you can always file a Getting Help report (http://www.nationstates.net/49327/page=help) to have it reviewed and possibly removed from the queue.
The forum you propose we start has existed for many years here (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/forumdisplay.php?f=1225).

I know there is a forum for that. I talking about you linking the draft threads to the WA page.

Not everyone (unfortunately) writes a draft, and to be honest, there are links at the left side of the page to jump you to the WA forum. I really don't see this being coded in as the functionality is pretty much already there without having to rewrite the game.

This thread (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=553128) will allow you to expose silly or illegal proposals to the contumely of the general populace and the righteous wrath of the mods.
Posting there helps the mods kill these faster and also helps posters learn how to make a legal proposal.
Regional Delegates do approve or disapprove proposals; if the proposals don't appeal, they don't reach quorum and so are never listed for vote.
If you're meaning "players", though, Kat has already explained the problems there. You're stuck with just voting "accept" or "reject" when the vote's on.
As Kat said, the World Assembly (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/forumdisplay.php?f=1225) forum is where players discuss drafts and suggest improvements -- but no matter how thoroughly a draft is shot down, there's always someone who goes ahead and submits the damn thing anyway.
Those are the ones Max lets us play with in the Mod Cave, after work ...

I think that what he/she/whatever was asking for is a 'Disapprove' button that works in the same basic way as the 'Approve' one: 06% of the Delegates click it, and the proposal is automatically deleted...

Indeed; but as that would require changing the code, and as bad legislation will generally not get enough support to go to vote, and offensive and joke proposals can be brought to our attention and deleted...
I could also see the possibility of abuse -- what if a group of people were to shoot down legitimate proposals before the rest of the WA members could even see them, simply because it offended their political or personal ideologies, or because they disliked a particular player?
