Okay, so I'm an idiot and didn't see the Create Nation screen revert back to "Republic" when it didn't accept my first, second or tenth name choice ...
I really, really, REALLY want to be a Colony.
Is it possible to have this changed??? I just feel soooo dirty as a Republic ....:(

Go to Settings. You can switch it there.

No, that's not it. The last time someone asked that -- four days ago -- I gave them a few links in this (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=14235556&postcount=3) post.
Go to the Gameplay forum to ask about how to play particular parts of NS (often How do I ...? questions about regions, titles, populations).
For all forums, read the stickies at the top of each forum and then just jump in.
