United Nations orders closure of United Nations

The (real) United Nations has demanded NationStates "immediately cease and desist from using the United Nations name and emblem," as it "is unauthorized and in violation of of the provisions of international and U.S. laws."

Reaction inside the NationStates world was swift and brutal: faced with this extra-dimensional incursion, the NS United Nations collapsed. Stunned member nations stared on in disbelief; Gatesville regional residents wandered about in a daze, unsure how to feel and wondering what to do with their lives.

But bureaucracy abhors a vacuum, so almost immediately the proposals rang out for a new organization, one that would serve the same, admirable function as the United Nations, but without the lawsuits. Thus, behold! The World Assembly!

Thank you, Boolari. Usually the only places NS gets really bothered about typos are in Issues (because Sirocco makes us) and in WA proposal drafts (because the WA players are grammar/spelling nazis) -- also because issues and resolutions are laws, and should be accurately worded -- but this is too good a chance to miss.

It will be drawn to Mr Barry's attention.

Oh, boy, will it be drawn to his attention.

"For shame, Max!" we will say.

"A fine example for a professional writer to set!" we will say.

"How often do we have to tell you, use your spellchecker!" we will say.

And he will shuffle his feet and say nothing.

And a few days later we will discover there are no more free tea-bags or coffee or bikkies in the mods' tearoom.

But. hey, them's the breaks.

It's tough being right on the internet.

And it only took 6 months for someone to notice this too.
