Question about NS1 & NS2

Wilgrove

Ok, so as far as I can tell, as long as you keep your NS1 nation alive, you can post on the NS1 forum. Apparently (as of right now) you can post on NS2 as well. Now let's say I create my NS2 "Wilgrove" and let the NS1 Wilgrove die. Will I still be able to post in both forum or will I be restricted to NS2?

No. Jolt wouldn't do something like that. You'll have full access to all forums like you used to.

I wouldn't bet on that, Cookiton; while I can't say either way for sure, I expect they'll eventually partition off NS1 and NS2. Otherwise it's going to play merry hell with duplicate nation (and thus forum account) names.

Cookiton, I've asked you before to not make pronouncements as if you are in full possession of the facts. I'm no longer asking, I'm telling you. Knock it off.

Fact is, we're discussing methods of forum access with Jolt and OMAC. Chances are we'll remove the link between nation death and forum account ban. There are still several factors up in the air, such as whether to lock down NS2 in the same sense as NS1 (no random Jolt drive-by posting), and how to deal with nations that don't want or need a forum account. It's not a simple equation.

One thing that won't be happening is name duplication. Jolt's databases, like all databases, only recognize one unique name per ID, and that's not something we can override on demand.

Banned nations no longer have their Forum accounts banned, however, if you let your NS1 nation die you will be unable to post in the Nationstates 1 forum unless it is reinstated.

Will I be able to use the same forum account for both ns1 and ns2?
