failing security check?

I thought I was crazy till I ran this issue by another NS member on AIM.

Quite often, I go to post on the regional board, and I get the following responce:

"This request failed a security check."

I am logged in (I've already checked that), and as far as I know I'm not under shackles or anything for misbehavior. So it doesn't make sense to have these "security checks" that just out of the blue started happening.

On a side note, the kid I talked to about the issue is in my region. Not sure if it makes a difference, but I figure ill put the issue with all the known facts out there.

I've noticed that message if I've logged out via one NationStates window, and then try to submit something onto the civil headquarters/TG another nation via another NS window.

It's happened to me too. I think you have clear you cache for it to work.

You're both essentially correct.

You get that message when you switch to a new nation, but your computer has cached pages from the old nation. When you click your Region Button, it tries to go to the new nation region, but instead sees the cache of the old nation's region.

The security check aspect comes in because people could attempt to fool their browser into logging in to someone else's nation. The game won't let you do that, so you get a warning. Clear your cache, and all will be fine.

Or to clarify even further (since all three of you are pretty close), it's when you have a page open from an old login (even if it is the same nation). Refreshing the page in question (or just re-submitting the message from the page with the error on it) should fix the problem.
