Growing my nation? Does it take that long?

Ive noticed some countries with like billions of population and mine only grows 1 million people a day? I dont think these people have been playing for THAT long lol.
So can someone help me on how I can get my population up or tell me how?

Currently only gaining one million a day because your nation is new. The larger your population is and depending on how you resolve some issues how much your nations population gain you have increases.

It seemed to me like it started pick up after you hit 500 million, you know, changing surname and submitting an issue
It starts at 1 million a day for the first 5 days, 2 million for 5 days, 3 million for 5 day, maybe 2 or 3 days at 4 million, and after that it grows from 5 million to 8 million a day.

Five days @ +1 million per day,
then five days @ +2 million per day,
then five days @ +3 million per day,
and then +(5 to 8, determined randomly each day) million per day after that.
Whatever you do with issues (or anything else) has no effect on this at all.

Well, some of those multiple population guys have had a nation for that long.
I've been around since 2006 and have a 4.4 billion population, others with more than 10 billion have been around since 2003, five years...
