NationStates Bogged Down?

Well I'm fairly familiar with the whole forum slowness thing...but this is the first time I've had a trouble using NationStates itself...

The whole site has been incredibly slow during the entire day - I've got to wait about 3 minutes to log in, and about that long to visit any other NS page (if I'm lucky and the connection doesn't time out). I know quite a few NSers on the other side of the world, and they're experiencing the same problem. Hoping this will be short-lived...

NSTracker, NSDossier and NSEconomy have all simultaneously stopped working.

Anyone else with the same difficulty?

Ditto. NS was running like a snail through molasses all day yesterday, and today.

I don't know specifically what's going on, but I do know that Jolt and OMAC are starting to coordinate efforts on certain things, like the forum enhancements and cleanup. It wouldn't surprise me to discover that server moves and DNS consolidation are part of the overall picture.

Be patient. Marriages take some time to adjust, as he and she decide which of their things to keep and which to discard. It'll work out soon enough.

BTW, NSTracker, NSDossier and NSEconomy all depend on the NS XML feed. If the feed is running as slow as the main site (which it would, since it uses the same sources), those sites won't be any more responsive than the main site.

I hope the happy couple settles the fuck down soon...it's like running an obstacle course just to get onto NSG, never mind the headache of trying to get a post through. Though it was getting really bad previous to the wedding anyway.

Anyone else had loads of trouble getting on here?

I've had trouble getting on the jolt forums myself but if I do it as forums2.jolt.co.uk it usually works fine

I got the idea from hearing about how the Chinese government has only blocked jolt one but you can still access with 2 so I guess the UK has followed the trend

Regarding the forum issues, just use http://forums3.jolt.co.uk/forumdisplay.php?f=1235 instead of the usual link.

Not a complaint, just a musing: it's going to be tricky to do anything WA-related. I don't really fancy submitting a proposal, much less TG campaigning for it, through cold treacle.

Earlier it was just impossible to properly get logged into the forum, but at the moment things seem to work as they're supposed to do. Let's see if it stays that way.
