I have looked for an answer in the FAQ, but couldn't find it. The political freedoms in my state are currently outlawed, so how could I allow freedom to increase, do i just have to wait for another issue?

It's a little known secret that the more often you change your password, the more freedoms your people will have. It's our little way of keeping your account safe.

Let's try this from another angle.

What do you think you could do, apart from answering issues, to change your nation's statistics? Let's look at all the options available to you:

Move to a new region.
Join the WA.
Send someone a telegram.
Write something on your regional message board.
Add a nation to your dossier.
Change your e-mail address, password, motto, currency, animal, or flag.
Post on the forums.

So, anything look promising?

Actually, "joining the WA" could work if you really don't want to answer issues, as the WA might pass a resolution that increases political freedom across the board in all member states. If you propose it, and it reaches quorum, and it passes as a resolution, of course. (which could take a while longer than waiting 12 hours for your next issue, but hey, you never know! "Fight the Axis of Evil" for one hit quorum and passed with a majority almost immediately! ;))
