Unable to post from my forum account?

Ok, the deal is, I'm a little bit lost. I've consulted the faqs and the forums, but I haven't been able to get any luck.

I created a forum account and a Nationstates game account at roughly the same time. I logged into my email account and activated the forum account as well as a nationstates membership for jolt forums (I think this is where I killed it), and tried to post in a thread, and was greeted with this message.

4-4, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

1. Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
2. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

I was a bit confused, as I had activated my account, so I went into my Nationstates account and messed around with the politics.
I then came back to the forum via the forum link on nationstates page, and now I was logged in as [NS]4-4??

Thoroughly confounded, I was able to post a reply to a thread in general with this account, but not with the original?
I'm not sure if I have somehow overwritten the 4-4 account in place of this [NS]4-4 (they both use the same email)

I would appreciate any help on the matter, even if its a push in the direction of the delete all button so I can start over.

What you did wrong was register for a jolt account. All you had to do was try to access the forums from your nation and all would have been well. Instead, now jolt forums has a member known as 4-4 and even though 4-4 is you, there can't be two of them, so you are [NS]4-4. It would be like if there was a jolt member known as Steel Butterfly, I would be [NS]Steel Butterfly. You cannot post here with your 4-4 account because typical Jolt members cannot post in the NationStates forums. (Thank god) You can, however, post with your [NS]4-4 account. Just access the forums through your nation. So much easier.

Ah, thank you very much for your quick response.

So it was my hastiness that created the problem :D Thank you again, you've cleared things up very well.

Hey no problem at all. What you do now really comes down to how much that "[NS]" bothers you. You're fairly new, so making a new nation and just letting 4-4 die a natural death wouldn't cause much grief I'm sure. However, if you are attached to the name, there are other people out there with [NS] in their title and get along just fine. Welcome to NationStates, by the way. Be careful, it's addicting. :)

Thank you for the welcome, but I've actually been here since 2005. ;)
I never actually posted on the forums, so I decided to set up a new account (a new identity if you will) separate from the game.

I think I will stick with [NS]4-4, it will make a good conversation piece when someone wants to know what it means :p
