I was wondering this so that I could effectively plan out my entry without it getting rejected 20 times for being too long. In general, the factbook limit seems WAY too short; I barely have any room for anything else besides links to my region's embassy and forum. I also think it is sort of strange that things like bold and color count in the character limit.

I think it's about 250. I'm not positive.

I generally try to keep it under one or two sentences. If you use a lot of code, for bold, italics and especially colors, it eats up a lot of space. If you are looking to put your whole government on there (the list of important people), just bold it... the more colors the more you waste.
