I have a question about private regions. Say I create a private region and don't wish to use it any more or even keep any nations in it. Is there a certain amount of time where if it remains empty it will be deleted? Or will the region remain until the nation that creates it goes inactive?

If all nations leave a region, it will be deleted at the next update (i.e. within 24 hours). So all you have to do is move all of your nations out and it will cease to be.
