the issue of evil and thoughts on scifi and fantacy

I have noted two things about issues:

1. all issues seem to work on the basis of making the nation a better place to live. while it is true that you can make bad decisions based on the choices given, there appears to be very few issues based on an "evil" nation. All the issues seem to be arguments for improvement but their are none that focus on purposely letting things go to hell. For example: torturing good or defiant citizens for the sole purpose of entertaining the psychotic evil dictator :upyours: .

2. all of the issues i have seen or have read about on other nations descriptions have a distinct "real" quality to them. simply put, their is no scifi or fantasy. no lazer guns and starships :mp5: . no magic and monsters :gundge: . while this is probably impossible in this version or in the probably already-in-production NS2, I think this idea holds possibility. perhaps instead of nations, worlds or dimensions. instead of regions, star systems. and instead of the UN, galactic or inter-dimensional federations

if this is an issue that should have been put in a different thread, let me know and i will repost it somewhere else.

Even though South Lorenya is populated by Dragons, I still take positions on many inapplicable issues (such as "shooter kills three").

Though many issues don't apply to us (why would flying dragons need public transport?), others do (it's "realistic" that dragons could get STDs, though it's probably not transmittable between dragons and humans). I'm sure I do more "dismissing" than most human nations.

while in your mind you may be dragons, it is obvious that the game does not treat you as such. I desire swords and spells in my nation, but anything that might be brought up as an issue will be, at best, guns and nukes, not force fields and magical barriers. this is why they should make a "geek/nerd/otuku" version of the game.

There is no way to include variants for every flavor of nation under the sun -- marine-based ones have famously had dolphins frolicking in the forest.

Ignore the issues that don't apply to your nation type at all, and mentally change "guns" to "swords" in your roleplaying. It's what the rest of us do.

I've always thought there should be an option for every single issue that would be phrased something like "I've got an idea," says cabinet member XX, "Why don't we scrap the constitution and give you complete power." instead of gradually working to create a pshycotic dictatorship, you just do it in one step. I would never do that (Seriously, why would I lie?), I always want to remain a Capitalist Paradise, but for those people who decide they want to increase the un-realness of it all.

There's a few issues that have the whole "screw elections" option. And there's another one that really changes your nation... heh heh heh...
Hate Haven

psychotic dictatorships seem to be difficult to hold on to. hate haven is supposed to be a place where people have their souls riped out and torn apart by minions daily, however, it appears that it retains a beautiful landscape. the people are not supposed to even get money. they are only supposed to be slaves as well as meat to wipe for fun by demonic beasts. yet every issue seems to leave you with no choice but to make it a better place for ate least one group of people to live. in other words, we need issues that offer a choice between horrible acts that take away from the standard of living (except for those in power) of all citizens. on the other hand, we need do need a few that are the opposite of this as well.

wait! what about a field that displays the standard of living (aka how happy citizens are). that would bring a whole new dimension to the game. (it's also probably one of the first things that should have been included in the first place)
Conserative Morality

This thread reminds me of star command 2... If you talk to the Ilwrath about their evilness and then comment that evil is just deviation from the morals of their society then they will find out that their actually good... Not the point tho, I agree with you 100% there should be more fantasy/Scifi/evil choices. But you can choose to spend your money on orbital defense platforms;):gundge:
And last time I checked, Pug dogs do NOT frolic in lush forests, and neither can there be pug-dog hybrids cause PUGS ARE DOGS!THat issue annoyed me.
