10000 Regions, how many empty ones?

Greetings,
I apologize if i'm repeating some other post.
I estimate around 40% regions have only one (1) nation! Like this it is difficult to browse the available regions...
It seems appropriate that some kind of rule is established to limit the number of one nation region. I suggest that a maximum time for the growing of a region exist, something like, i don't know, 3 days?
PS
Another, less worked idea is a "random listing" of regions instead of a alphabetical ordering, something to avoid the 0000 nations... (alphabetical ordering may still be available, but make it not the default)
I know that this suggestions will need some programming effort, but it is my opinion that it is worth it.
To any reader: What do you think?
Compliments,

Great estimate! A survey on June 22 showed that of the 11223 regions existing then, 4725 contained exactly 1 nation. That's 42.1%
(there were 1927 2-nation regions, 17.2%, and 1085 3-nation regions, 9.7%)
Still, if the list of regions contained only 6500 regions, it would still be difficult to browse, so I do not see what advantage removal of 1-nation regions would bring. And that's assuming people wouldn't just create a second, third, whatever nation for the purpose of keeping their region alive.
Also, the 000* regions... They are interesting right now precisely because they're listed at the top of the list. None of the ones on the first page are 1-nation regions. Creating any other consistent ordering would simply put another list of regional names at the top, likely to be just as nonsensically named due to the way alphabetization in NS functions. And if one were to make the list entirely randomized as you suggest... wouldn't that make searching through the list much harder instead of easier? Cause it won't save all that much on the number of regions present, and then they'd have no sorting at all.

You could order it by population. Largest to smallest. Just a thought.

What of nations who don't wish to belong to other people's regions, but wish to be left alone in their own? Should they be penalized because it is inconvenient to skim through pages of region names?
Are you certain of the "one nation" regions? This came up recently and I had to point out at that time that there were, in fact, many regions that had been termed "one nation" which had multiple nations in it -- the person making this observation had read the wrong column and assumed that one UN nation meant one nation total.

I used the XML feed data for my tally, tag <NUMNATIONS>
Can you elaborate which table you are referring to when you say 'column' ? I know of no column within the game which tallies the total number of UN nations.
I asked the same in the thread you refer to ( http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=535459 ) earlier...

First off let me thank you all for your attention.
IMO, the ones that don't want to belong to any region should be able to just leave their region, and become disassociated from any regions...
Almost absolutely certain that there are around 40% "one nation" regions... i made an estimate using 30 "random" regions. I made a new sampling this time it gave an 33% "one nation" regions (this time i actually listed the nations of the 20 regions used).
