I am not sure this is the right spot but i have a question about the NS forums. I want to upload or simply use an avatar but the option "Do not use an avatar" is selected and cannot be unselected. What gives?

If memory serves me correctly, only moderators and administrators can use avatars.

That is correct - avatars are a badge of office of sorts.
