Old issues & legislation

It bugs me that everytime I make legislation for a new law and come back the next day, another old law is gone.

Is there any way to see all of my old laws that were produced from previous issues? Some of them were really funny and I didn't have the sense at the time copy them into a text file. I'm hesitant to start now, seeing as I've already had so many laws pass by - I'm an "all or nothing" type of person.

It could be made into an option in settings to "show" or "hide" the full list of national laws.

Or... does everything get purged from the system to save space...?

they get purged. Though, with the repeating issues (over time), you can record your choices as you go along.

i've been here for what...4 years, imagine how large that file would be for me.

200-odd issues for which the average number of options (and therefore outcomes) is around three. You'd have about 600 lines of text in that file if you've managed to firstly get all the issues, and secondly responded to them all by choosing each different option.

Failing that, there's always using an actual notepad. I once had a project with a friend of mine to write down each country we had, what decisions we made for each issue for each country, and the effects thereof. You have no idea how many puppets we had and how difficult it was to keep track of them all. It is, however, a decent way to keep track of your decisions. It can work as a backup in case something happens to your computer, too. Hard copy is nearly always a good idea.

(i knew i forget something...the way i saw the info being kept is different than yours...my calculations are below)

Yes, but if I have 2 issues every day *4 years = 2920 lines, presuming it kept each time you had an issue separately...

and of course, multiply that by the many nations formed here...

that's a lot of lines...

I'm an archivist by nature so lots of lines is not only unintimidating, it's common place.

Do the issues come up in any kind of order? Like, if I started a new nation, would I get the same issues that I've already had with this account - in the same order? Or, are they specific to the day and both this and the second account would get the same ones? Or, are they just completely random?

they're random, to a point. In addition, if your nation doesn't qualify for them (say, if you've banned voting, you won't get issues demanding more voting).

The first (i think it's two weeks, but i think i'm wrong on this one) little while, you start with max's original 30 in a random order, then you get access to the other 170.

Only 200? I had got that impression but thought it was just a guess.

I've only been here for about 2 months, so if I save what I currently have and start up a new account I can catch most of what I missed. Plus I'll have 2 issues a day instead of just one.

By the way, despite all 200 issues having (+/-)3 outcomes, I'm not interested in saving all of them, just the ones that I chose.

Thanks for the info.

Log into your nation, go to the settings tab in the menu on the left, and you can change the number of issues you receive each day (two per weekday is the most).

Also, there are currently approximately 212 issues in circulation - see this thread (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=345941) (WARNING: SPOILERS!)

(two per weekday is the most)Incorrect. The most is "two per day". Two per weekday only gives issues Monday through Friday.

Great thread.

Dare I ask if there's an effects thread? (The last paragraph of the nation description)
