the region of Taijitu has a jolt portal within their worldfactbook entry .. how did they do that? I tried adding a link in my region's wfe and it didn't work, just came out as type, not a link. I guess I was just wondering if there was a way to add web links in the wfe that can just be clicked on? (like for regional forums)

You can't link to anything other then Jolt. The headaches that could cause in terms of people breaking the rules would be amazing. But it's harder to break them linking to a Jolt thread.
