Honestly by the time a mod looks at these, they might not even be the correct post numbers...I'd advise the mod to just look at the first page of this thread

When the clocks on the four Jolt cluster servers get out of sync for a while, post order gets shuffled. There's not a damn thing we can do about it afterwards.

As far as I can tell, the clocks of the regular forums.jolt.co.uk server and forums2.jolt.co.uk are set four to five minutes apart, with forums2 ahead by the five minutes. This discrepancy is causing the posts of those who use forums2 to appear before the posts of those who use the regular forums if they are made within that five-minute discrepancy window.

If that made any sense.

I'm pretty sure that the forum access choice is divided geographically. I think that forums.jolt.co.uk is usually used by US players, and forums2.jolt.co.uk is typically UK and Euro players. I don't know who uses 3 and 4, except that Hotrodia and Katganistan sometimes switch to 3 when 1 is buggin'.

As far as I know, all 4 servers sit side by side in a dingy London back office. I'm sure Jolt admins would take offense to that, but they never read our tech forum, do they?

It's still happening though...and quite rapidly

Is this a "known bug" that can be fixed or at least calmed down?

I don't know about that Fris, I seem to remember seeing a Jolt admin or two post in here before.

Okay, there ain't much that can be done about it, but is there any idea when will it stop? I said tomorrow that this may or not stop yesterday, but I'm not sure.

It has already stopped ... somewhen ...

I'll try to catch the Jolt admins for an update, but like everything else, timing is everything. When I'm working UK crossover business hours (US mornings), I tend to only have time to meet with my UK colleagues, and no, I don't work for/with Jolt. Asking for time off to resolve an in-game issue probably wouldn't go over well with the people who pay me.

Well, unless they divided the Netherlands too, that isn't entirely correct. It happens in the Dutch topic too and we're all posting from Holland.

I seem to have posted two responses to a question in before the person asked the question. This is really messed up.

You can see if you're on Server 1, 2, 3, or 4 by looking at the URL:

One of the four servers was recently taken down and everything reinstalled. Apparently they neglected to re-enable the timeserver service, and it was running six minutes fast.

A server clock adjustment has been made, and in theory, all will be back to normal. (The fellow I got hold of at 23:00 local time may not have had all necessary permissions to make it permanent, but hopefully it will hold until Monday).
