anyone else experiencing more-than the usual problems with the forums lately? i keep getting database errors and, more often, really long hangs especially when submitting a post, voting or editing. its been leading me to doublepost a lot recently because i can't tell if its submitted the thing or not.
i've been getting the same behaviour both on my net connection at home and at work, but i haven't tried a different computer... so it could just be me...

anyone else getting similar problems?

edit: it seems to work sporadically, too. posting this was just fine (heh), but for most of the day its like that for half an hour or so, then its fine for the next half... grr...

Agreed. Several days ago near the beginning of the week I was recieving database errors and yesterday it was taking me quite a while to load pages.

There is only one schedules database down time, and that is the time between 11:00 and 11:20 at night no these forums.

I too have been getting the hangs and things like that. Every once in awhile I check my nation (log-out/log-in) just to check if the forums are actually working. (There should be no posts if there will be a database error). If there are no posts, I exit the forums, and if there are, I just wait. It's all I can do. Is the bandwidth or hard drives getting filled up? We could get rid of NSG if that's the problem. (See's 4/5 the forum population leave the forums permanently)

out of the question

however it is good to know its not just me getting these errors. they have been working properly for months now, so i guess they're due for a hissy-fit ;)

it gets weirder.... like i go to this page http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=513782&page=10 and it only shows me page 9 of the thread (i'm on 40 posts per page so 10 is the last page)

if i type in page=11, 12 or whatever it just shows me page 9.

problem is evident in different browsers, too

Yes, those times are eastern.

Anybody know what's causing this?

The forum seems to be lagging quite a lot...
That's quite bad for users who want to post something...

You spoke too soon, right now you can post in threads and see the main page, but try to click on the NationStates forum, and you get an instant database error

Jolt is absolutely ridiculous...this is what they call an upgrade?

its actually been pretty good for quite a long time now, but this particular spat of annoyances has been going on for maybe a week or more. at least, for me.

I count on the Database error at 6:00 pm Hawaii time. for about 20 minutes.

but I've been noticing it in the mornings as well as slowdowns throughout the day.
