Delegates...

We need to loosen the UN grip in the game. Delegates shouldn't be chosen by UN members only. We need to allow every member of a location to vote for who they feel should be their delegate. If a user doesn't want to follow UN regulations, they shouldn't have to sacrifice their ability to choose who they want to guide them throughout their future gameplay. I for one am frustrated by the fact that my power to choose who i feel is most qualified to reign in my location is directly related to my involvement in an organization whom rules i find myself disagreeing with often. I very strongly recommend that delegate elections should be open to all members of a location.

It is not like the UN makes any significant changes to a nation, I personally have never seen significant change.
And allowing any nation to vote would make it incredibly easy to invade a region and knock the other delegates out of power. A single person could take over hundreds of regions, just by making hundreds of different nations and voting for himself. But since you can only have one nation in the UN, a single person only has a single vote. There is really no other way to enforce it.

The Deligates are "UN Deligates" and not "All Members of the Region Deligates".

So why would non-un member nations want to elect a deligate if their nation isn't changed by UN Resolutions?

Sorry, I don't buy that argument. I left the UN because of the significant changes.

Atari Lords, this is a satirical political simulation. You gain power in the game by having UN membership. One of the side effects of doing things to gain power is that other things happen to you that you might not want. It's called 'politics'.

You're of course welcome to design your own game where actions don't have consequences, but we'll be keeping this one the way Max designed it.

The same applies for delegates as well.:p

From an IC viewpoint, Sirat would agree with the OP. The UN has badly damaged Sirat, and I was stuck in it because of regional politics.

But, OOC, it makes sure one person can't crank out 101 puppets to vote for him, it's a decision with consequences, and most important of all, it gives me something to whine about ICly. :p

the UN doesnt give people power to lead, they are born with that skill, why should the UN take that away from them because their fans do not conform to its totally unappealing style of tyrannical rules and regulation, clearly UN delegates must be in the UN, but that does not mean those who choose the delegate have to be in the UN, the delegates are simply the nations whom chose them form of communicating with the UN, the delegates represent the majority, had they felt they need not the representation, they would have merely joined them self, that is also politics, and as for the multi-accounts, i honestly believe one nation per person is enough, they should ban multi-accounts, so in conclusion, any organization will elect a leader, and since regions do not have leaders, people will substitute the absence with delegates, so until they allow a regional leadership, the delegates will suffice as proper and chosen representations to the UN and the world, its as simple as that, this forum was meant for ideas for improvement, theres the idea, time for improvement

You don't seem to understand though.

UN RESOLUTIONS DON'T AFFECT NATIONS THAT ARE NOT A PART OF THE UNITED NATIONS. So why should Nations that are not members of the United Nations elect the UN Deligate? It's not like anything that is passed through the UN General Assembly will effect said non-member nation.

So thus, Non UN Member Nations are thus granted no rights to elect the UN Deligate.

And anyways, I enjoy having my 3 puppet nations to mess around to see what Issues will do if i vote different ways on them. Banning people from having more than one nation just isn't feasable. If the nations don't break any of the set rules, then they are allowed to exist.

I'm guessing you havent read the rules yet, eh? Take time and read THIS (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=416023) thread.

And you've been answered, not once, but twice, by the powers-that-be. Your solution has been proposed and rejected many many times, as it would have profound implications on how the game is played.

Also, if you wish your ideas to be taken seriously, please learn to punctuate and capitalize your sentences. A single sentence spamming a massive paragraph is very hard to read. Try adding some periods and hit Enter every once in a while.

There are some regions whose constituent nations do hold elections for the postion of Delegate (one vote per nation, maybe, or one vote per player) and then expect the UN members amongs their number to assign their endorsements according to the outcome of the vote. Is there anything to keep you from moving to such a region, if you can find one whose other aspects suit your tastes?
For that matter, there are some regions with elected governments in which the Delegate is only one of several officials...
