66% instead of Majority

I personally think that we should have the UN at 66% instead of 50.((0)*)1+ or majority rules. Now why do I want this to be implemented. Well, for one, there are things like Ban Nephoiliphia, that won by a mere 10% getting only about 60% of the total vote. Well, the other 40% don't want this, and in reality, something like this would pass. So, I stand before you, asking to tweak the number needed to 66% or better.

No. We aren't going to recode the UN just because you're bitter that a Resolution you didn't like was passed.

IMHO, the resolution in question was extremely well written and actually has some guts in it instead of some of the other resolutions that i've seen passed. If you don't lile the resolution, then your welcome to make a repeal and submit it.

I'm not bitter. I'm not even in the UN. I'm just giving suggestions to how it can be improved. It's a small tweak. I was giving that one as an example for my reasoning.

Yes, but it is a very decisive proposal. You have 40% of the people mad, and over time, that gets very many people mad. We want the most people happy, so having 33%, will make people start to think why they voted against it. I notice that half the proposals in the UN, are written really bad yet people still vote for them. One of them basically defines the problem.

The UN is a democracy we decided that having 50% + 1 win was reasonable.

We see no reason to change it. Many legislators work this way, so too shall the NationStates UN.

With a 50% limit, at most just less that 50% of people are going to be 'mad'. With a 66% limit, almost 66% of people could be 'mad' if a resolution fails. How does that make the most people happy?

Besides, the weighed votes already make for an interesting mechanic. Indeed, the margin for the most recent Resolution would have been much more strongly in favor without weighed votes. All the Feeders, the Rejected Realms, and Gatesville all voted against it.
