I seem to be getting logged out every 30 to 45 seconds.
I had trouble getting acces from the Nation States "game" and now the forum settings are not even remotely sane...

I have a feeling this belongs in Technical...though I can't relate to that problem...

Someone will move me if this belongs elsewhere.
But, I'm lucky to get any posts "filed" anywhere with the timer set to log me me so quickly...

You're getting logged out of what every 30 to 45 seconds? The game? The forum?

We have no timeouts like that at all. You might want to check your cookie settings.

The forum keeps logging me out.
The time it takes me to read a post (30 to 45 seconds) is long enough for the system to log me out so that I must log back in.

Jolt login requires active cookies to keep track of your username and location information. Either you have cookies disabled, or your Jolt cookies are corrupt. I'm betting on the former.

Either turn on cookies, or delete any jolt.co.uk and all forums.jolt.co.uk cookies, and try again.

I am experiencing the same problem but it is a lot more than 30 - 45 seconds. It used to be a 60 minute log in but it feels like it's 15 now.

I wish we could choose the setting ourselves through the CP.

Hm. As long as I click "Remember Me", I'm able to stay logged in. For seven hours, at least.

Ok, here goes, the recipe to stay logged in forever:

[1] Delete your jolt cookies or use the forum logout feature. Or both. The forum logout button is at the bottom of http://forums.jolt.co.uk/index.php
[2] Log back in through the forum interface and tell it to remember you.
[3] Do not come back to the forums from the game. This tends to cause you to start logging out again. Instead, after answering issues and such to keep you nation alive, skip right to http://forums.jolt.co.uk/forumdisplay.php?f=1235
[4] Rejoice.

That didn't work. I've cleared all my cookies and still won't stay logged in after logging in.

I am also not logged in when I click the 'Forums' link from my nations page in NS, I have to log in manually every time, and I usually have to re-log in every two minutes or so.

Okay, it's more like fifteen minutes, it just seems shorter :D

That's just it. You don't follow the link anymore. Check your nation, and then go to the forums either by bookmark, or by typing the URL into the address bar. Clicking from the nation page will log you out.

Also, when you log in the first time, click the box next to "Remember Me". That's an important step.

I can say that I followed this to the t and it's right. I can stay logged in for hours upon hours upon hours, hell I'm over a week already :). However, when I make the dumb and habitual mistake of hitting "FORUMS" on the NS page it throws it off. Might I ask if this will be fixed in the future?
