Do "Free Trade" resolutions improve UN nations' economies?

Although I'm posting this in Technical rather than UN, I'm not really anticipating a moderator response (this is probably the sort of information you don't like to give out, and that's probably fair) - more the input of others with a chance to observe this.

When a Social Justice or Environmental resolution passes in the UN, both economic freedoms and the actual economy seem to be affected. So a Corporate Police State might go to Iron Fist Consumerists, but also its actual economic ranking might decrease (for example, from "Very Strong" to "Strong", depending on Strength).

Does the opposite occur with Free Trade resolutions, though? I've often seen it said that "this will give a nice boost to my economy"...but from the category description and the observed effects of it on other nations (I can't really tell from Gruenberg, as my economy is Frightening, so I can't see it go up) I don't think this is true. I think Free Trade resolutions only increase economic freedoms - but leave the economy at the same level. So the Iron Fist Consumerists might go to Corporate Police State again, but stay at Strong.

Of course, if the economic model NS uses is considerably more complex than this (and for various other reasons) this post may be senseless, but otherwise, has anyone else come to this conclusion? Or, have they noticed economic rank improvements that can only have come about through the passage of a Free Trade resolution?

Aren't those titles (Iron Fist Consumerists, Corporate Police State, etc) all based upon the rankings? Euro posted a chart of how all the titles compare to the actual rankings

Well, yes (mostly, I think - Hack seemed to hint they weren't exclusively based on them). But the rank for economy is "economic freedom", not "economic strength".

So you can have a Left-Wing Utopia with a Frightening economy, and a Corporate Police State with an Imploded economy.

I'm talking about economic strength, rather than economic freedom.

Actually, the chart was first made by Distributed Thought...
