A Serious problem...

I was checking out the forum, and I clicked back to go back to NationStates, and I was re-directed to another user's account. I had complete control over his account, including passwords and such. It listed it as though I had logged in, but I never did, and I have never heard of this country. Is this a re-occuring problem?

Same thing happened to me twice. Do you by any chance use google web accelerator? Because that's when the problem started for me (the same thing happened to me on livejournal.) I also use firefox if that helps.

I do use FireFox, but not Google Web accelerator. Thanks for the help, I just wanted to see if it was a common thing or if my computer was the only one that did it. Also, I'm running Vista if that makes a difference.

Hmmm. I'm not running Vista. I geuss we'll just have to wait for a mod to tell us what the deal is.

This has been brought to the attention of the admins. In the meantime, Merchandisia, please file a Getting Help request with details, including the name of the other nation, email accounts on both nations, and anything else you might find relevant.

Once you've done that, log out of that nation, log into yours, and try the experiment again. We'll be a lot more concerned if it happens a second time.

Vista is still in Beta 2, yes? Using IE 7, which is also in Beta? I have no idea how those handle caching, which is likely at the heart of the problem. Logon timing may also be a factor. Please let us know more via GHR, if you would.

Oy. Sounds like a misbehaving proxy cache. I'll have to check out what cache-control headers we're sending. In the meantime, clear your cookies.
