I'm making this request on the part of a friend of mine whose nation's name is "The Holy Empire of Hamanistan." She has tried to log onto the forums at Jolt, but keeps getting an error message:

"There seems to have been a problem with the database.
Please try again by clicking the Refresh button in your web browser.

"An E-Mail has been dispatched to our Technical Staff, whom you can also contact if the problem persists.

"We apologise for any inconvenience."

What can she do?

Since nobody else is commenting on this, I'm guessing the problem is not widespread and probably on her end. There's nothing wrong with her nation. Database failures tend to affect everybody, so I have no other explanation.

She told me it was a syntax error, whatever that means, and that she can follow a link to General, but can't log on without getting that same message, if that helps any. :(

I was getting the same message, but it seems to have fixed itself for me. I was getting it whenever I tried to enter the forums for nearly all of today.

I think something might be going on.

I think something was going on too. It's allowing me on now as you can see.

I've had that problem off and on throughout the day, but usually only after I've spent a while browsing the forums. Reseting my computer allows me to log back in, for some reason.

i had that problem too... i couldn't get on until now...

Same here. I tried to get on for several hours with no success.

Well...i am getting database errors on the forums.jolt.co.uk server but if i go under the forums2.jolt.co.uk server it works. So i have no clue what's going on.

Saturday morning I was getting error mesages over and over, I finaly restarted my laptop and the errors stopped.

Although I have still been getting them aboute once every other hour or so..

I was also getting the error message and could not log on. I rebooted my computer and I was able to log on then.

It appears that a reboot helps?

I was having the same problem too: I'm getting through today, obviously, but that's on a different computer and I don't know whether the other one is still blocked...

Update: the first of those computer-systems is now letting me into the forum again...
