how to change region's World Factbook Entry after setting password

Hullo, and sorry if this is a question which has been asked/answered already, I didn't see it in the forum for some reason.
Our region needed the security of password protection, and finally we got it; however, at the time of setting it, I did not alter the WFE, with instructions for how new nations can join us.
Trying it _now_ didn't work, the Make Changes button takes into account a setting of a new password, which I don't necessarily want (and have not enough influence to do it).
Oh, and I tried entering the current password - but the page still assumes I want to change the password.
Any ideas how to change the WFE without having to change the password?
TIA.

We've had enough reports of this that we're going to run some live tests. Might take a bit. Bump this in 3-4 days if we haven't responded.

Hullo!
I posted a message about a week ago, about how to change the WFE of a password protected region without affecting the pass setting (first, I don't want to change the password, and even if I did, I need more influence). I'm sure an answer got posted - but I was away, and did not catch it ... the mod that fist answered suggested I bump my post in 3-4 days. but ... missed that.
Anybody remember the answer? or would any mod kindly repeat the answer? Thanks bunches.

The original topic was only 6 topics lower on the page. Next time, look a bit harder. If you didn't see it, you probably need to change your forum settings.

Oh, whoops. Uh, I'll test it someday. Make sure you're not filling anything in for the password field. Also, what browser are you using? They tend to react differently to javascript (like everything else that's standardized and open in web development, rather than monopolized).

Firefox
and I tried: 1) not filling anything in the pass field; 2) filling the current pass in it.
both failed, due to lack of influence and the page believing I want to change the password.
Thanks!

This has been mentioned two or three times, but we're not getting a lot of other reports on this. Therefore it must not be a factor for most players.
It's most likely the way your Firefox settings are interpreting Javascript, and therefore a local problem to your machine. You surely have Internet Explorer (since Windows computers can't uninstall it) - try it. If you have to suffer through using IE anytime you need to change your WFE, is that such a price to pay?
If you're using Linux or Mac, I'm sure you can figure out how to try this on Konqueror or Safari or something.
Oh, and don't touch the password field. Leave it as is.

From the influence thread (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=11345408&postcount=376)
Thanks. For Firefox, I allowed Javascripts to change 'Status Bar Text', and that seemed to work.
On my (heavily customized) copy of Firefox, that can be found under Tools / Options, then click to the Content tab, check the Enable Javascript checkbox, and then click the Advanced button. The checkbox for 'Status Bar Text' was right there.
