Minor national animal problem...

We find that the system of national animals is somewhat flawed, for one main reason. In a healthy environment, the national animal "frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests." This doesn't work terribly well with aquatic national animals. Our national animal is the dolphin, and we find it rather odd that it frolics freely in our lush forests. Perhaps this could be reworded to become more general?

Many people have commented on this... Moderators have always said there is no way for the game to know what type of animal yours is.. and it's not going to be changed

Freshwater dolphins, in the rivers flowing through the forests? that's what St Edmund has...
I've got T-Rexes, knocking down the trees in the forest. :D

Mine is the sleeping house cat. They also tend toward freely frolicking, and it does sound funny.

Well, I have penguins frolicing freely in the lush forests.
And for anyone who's looking, the ticket is:

Suggestion: How about changing the sentence to something a little ambiguous?
Such as...
"..@@ANIMAL@@, which thrives in the nation's ecological paradise."
Just a suggestion.

Because it's really more homorous than that. There are a lot of assumptions in the various issues that deal with the national animal and if you have an animal that doesn't fit those assumptions, it can be very funny indeed. My own national animal is the pelican.
Scientists have announced they are close to a breakthrough in their quest to revive the feather-bellied @@ANIMAL@@, a species that has been extinct in @@NAME@@ for more than a century.
After claims of two-headed @@ANIMAL@@s being seen near the numerous landfills of @@NAME@@, there have been calls for the government to act.
Angry farmers have taken to the streets demanding the government to act after reported sightings of strange @@ANIMAL@@-like dogs eating all the crops in fields.
Come to think of it, I can't think of any animal that isn't bizzare in one or more of these issues.

and then there's 'When @@ANIMAL@@s Attack!'... and the one about turning them into the nation's favourite snack... and the one about hunting... ;)
The easiest way to do it would be to add another radio button that gives the option of aerial, aquatic or terrestrial.

Yes, but then too many issues would have to be altered, like that feather-bellied @@ANIMAL@@ one.
I think this problem has run its course.
IMO,the only real solution is not to drink Coke while answering issues. There are too many possibilities, depending on what animal you have. I just recently discovered T-Rex fur! :D

hmm heres an idea. since the admin obviously know that it doesnt make sense in alot of cases how about taking it a step further instead of trying to fix it. instead of just having "frolics freely in lush forrests" why not have a few random scenerious? they can change day to day and not be on any sort of system since that would be complicated, and then everyday we would see a different equaly ridiculous scenerio for our national animals such as my polar bears.

It's not going to be changed. At its core, NationStates is a simple game, and it will stay that way.
