I know this scenario is never going to happen...

But what would happen in the event of a tie of votes for a U.N resolution?

EDIT: For the NS UN.

It is impossible to have a tied vote on a UN Security Council resolution. In order for any resolution to pass 9 of the 15 Security Council members must approve of the measure. which automatically ends the possibility of a tie.

In the case of the United Nations General Assembly, those votes that require a simple majority, aside from elections, if there is an equally divided vote a second vote on the same issue will be held within 48 hours of the first. If the second vote also ends in an equally divided vote the resolution is deemed rejected.

And if you simply meant the UN on nationstates, they will probably decide when it happens, though it never will. The likely hood is will be rejected since a majority is needed.

You fail at separating NS from RL.

The likely hood is will be rejected since a majority is needed.Actually, that's not correct.

In the highly unlikely event of a tie on a UN vote, the Proposal passes.
