Regional Invasions

Natonstates is boring. Deciding on issues and UN proposals is just plain dull. There is one fun element in the game: Regional invasions. But that is not as fun as it could be because as soon as you get your army into a region, the founder removes delegate access to regional control. The game would be so much more enjoyable if the delegate has regional control irrespective of the founders wishes.
You might say, fine, give the delgate control, then everyone will just password protect their region. So it would also then be a good idea to remove the password protection from the game altogether. Thus the idea behind the game is to get as many people in your region as possible, most of which are forced to be part of the UN, so that you can: a) Protect yourself from invasion, b) invade other regions.
Then the game becomes fun. Superpowers will rise, people will be pressured to join the UN. The only element left that will make the game lifelike is fear. Each region will need to have something that it is afraid to lose. Whatever that thing is can be though of by someone else.
Please improve the game.

Then the entire game is nothing but an "I got more people to join my group than you did" contest.
It's only boring if you make it boring. Use the game as an inspiration to add in your own details about your country.

Please improve the game.
Please dont.
The game is great as is, this is not a war game, sorry. If it bores you go play something else, I am positive there are other things. NationStates is what it is, and frankly I am quite glad that the invasions have been more or less halved by the influence.
Implementing the ideas you outlined in your post would ruin this game for the rest of us.

You don't like Founders? Invade a region without Founders.

No Founder, no passwords. Have fun.
Then the game becomes fun. Superpowers will rise, people will be pressured to join the UN.And to Hell with those of us who don't want to be in the UN! Or to people with numerous nations in numerous regions.
The only element left that will make the game lifelike is fear. You see, some of us play games because we get enough of real life in the real world.
Please improve the game. You have a very strange concept of improvement.

I see that people don't share the same views as I do. Well can somebody direct me to a game more like the one I described then?

A game where you win by getting the most people to join your group?
What type of game are you looking for?

Personally, I think that is an incredibly stupid & selfish idea.
Some people enjoy the game for what it is, & hate the regional takeovers. Have you ever thought that there is a reason why people go to lengths to protect their regions?
These people should have to option of not being taken over.
Though thanks to password protection, this doesn't happen in my region anymore.
However it was unfortunate that it had to come to that.
If the only thing you like about NS is regional takeovers...What's the point playing?

i invade and not trying to blow my own horn im pretty damn good at it.
The whole point of invading- if your going to do it properly- is find regions without founder and take them over. Whats the point in taking over a region with a founder in the first place?
Have you been invading for long because considering you hyave been around since 2004 you dont seem to be too good at the whole concept . :s

One of the best things about NS is that there is something for everyone. If you want to invade other regions you can, and as I understand it there are plenty of vulnerable Founderless regions to invade. And if you have a nice region that you DON'T want invaded, there are ways to prevent it.

Your opinion, not necessarily that of others. Please don't state opinion as fact.

I didn't join NationStates for the war aspect. I joined it for the potential of community building, and for roleplaying.
Then the game becomes fun. Superpowers will rise, people will be pressured to join the UN. Each region will need to have something that it is afraid to lose.
More like: in each region there will be a few people trying desperately to salvage the ruins of the community they spent months and years building up, while a greater number go back to sleep and ignore the whole ruckus.

EveOnline, World of Warcraft, take your pick...
