Account confusion

Hey all.

Somehow my (Similization (http://www.nationstates.net/similization)) account has been confused with someone called New Grantshire. I am not New Grantshire, nor do I have the slightest idea who New Grantshire is. The email associated with New Grantshire, however, is mine (obviously).

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

So... Does the silence mean I'll just have to live with not being my own nation on the fora?

No, it means you're being annoyingly impatient to the staff of volunteers on a Saturday.

Your forum account was created at a time when the link between fora and game was broken. Throw away the confirmation email for New Grantshire. I've sent you a new one under your real nation.

No, it means you're being annoyingly impatient to the staff of volunteers on a Saturday. In my - even more annoying - defense, I did try to resolve this issue via the admin@addy a good two weeks ago, and I didn't post a follow-up here 'til after I'd noted that a mod had looked through the forum, without any comment.

But hey, sorry about my impatience. I hope I at least provided a short diversion from the hangover?Your forum account was created at a time when the link between fora and game was broken. Felt rather odd posting as some garlic-smelling forigner j/k

There seem to be a number of people with the misapprehension that this is the correct way to go.

The Admins set up the moderators to take care of minor administrative trivia so they wouldn't have to. We've spent considerable time and effort creating documentation on how to reach the appropriate parties in the One Stop Rules Shop, including all the preliminary steps that needed to be taken before the admins became involved. Even if they do read those emails, they'll typically post them for mods to resolve. You're not saving ANY time or effort by going to the admin@addy route.

If it's a game issue, file a Getting Help report.
If it's a forum issue, post it in Moderation or Tech.

Those are your choices.

Fair enuff. I only read the guidelines off-forum before I sent the mail. I didn't catch any mentions of buggered forum accounts, so I figured that was the right way to do it.

Rather than spamming the email to death (I'm a forum admin myself), I came here, enabled the buggered account & read the guidelines in this part of the forum.

Now don't get me wrong. Everything worked out & I'm as happy as can be with your swift help.. But I have a hard time imagining I would've done anything differently, without the help of some fairly impressive psychic powers. So.. Perhaps it'd be a good idea for the admin to be a little more clear about forum related problems on the help page.

Thanks again.
