I have a lot of nations and this is my newest. On all of my nations, I've been having great trouble "creating a flag." Every file I upload, I get a messege that says it's bigger than 10 kb, and that I should go back. I do, and I usually refresh like it said at the bottom of the screen, but it still says the same thing. I must've tried 15 different flags, most of them were waaay smaller than 10 kb, and it kept saying that. I even resized a lot of them and made them the recommended size, but still, it wouldn't let me make my flag. The thing that made me the MOST angry was when I saved one of the flags from here, edited it a bit on PAINT (without making it bigger, I think I made it smaller) yet it wouldn't even allow that! What's up?

Are you sure it's not bigger than 10k?

The limit is even just a bit less than 10k, like 9.something k

Can you upload the flags somewhere and post them here?

Have you tried saving one of the default flags, and try uploading it as it is?

Yes, I'm sure. Some of them may have been bigger, but the vast majority were waaay smaller than 10kb, many of them the recommended size and many of them even smaller than that. And if they weren't, I would resize them.

Yes, I've tried that on imageshack, PAINT, and PictureIt!, usually resizing them so that they are waaay smaller than 10kb, but to no avail.

Why would I want to do that? Besides, if it won't allow me to upload it even when I resize it, I see no reason why it would allow me to upload it as it is. Nor do I see any reason why I would do that when I could just as easily select that same flag from the drop-down menu. If you are suggesting doing this for experimental purposes, it would serve no use, as I do not wish to use the flags or any resized version of them anyway.

PS: I have tried this on multiple computers, each one yielding the same results, so it must be something wrong with NationStates.

So you can't upload the files to other sites either? Are you sure that it is a problem with NationStates? Most other players don't seem to be having a problem.

Because that will tell us where the problem is. If you can upload it, it's a problem with your images, if you can't, then it is a problem with us.

Also, don't use Paint. It generates BMPs which don't work for the internet and will almost always be larger than 10kb.

I just uploaded my desired flag, although I had to make it much smaller than I wanted, but oh well...Tis a long explaination, but I think it was a problem with one of my computers, not my images or NS. :D
