Buon Giorno,

I looked through the Tech stickies and was unable to find the answer to my question, and even though I probably could have been more thorough in my search here it is.

Can a Founder leave a region and return to it with Founder status?

I.E. If I were to leave my region for Defender purposes or whatever, when I returned would I still have the powers of a Founder?

You will always be the founder until your nation dies.

Delegates however, would lose status if they stayed out through an update..

Addition: if the region is empty during update-time, it will cease to exist. At that point anyone could recreate it and become founder. So, if a Founder leaves a region he/she should avoid leaving the region empty if it is desired to remain Founder.

Another note: the delegate regional controls are activated automatically when the Founder leaves the region. Because of this a lot of Founders never leave their own region at all.
